Developing long-term programs and leadership development

Our goal at Hands On Chengdu is to support the communities of the
affected areas by recruiting, training, and managing volunteers who would like
to assist.  To do this, we will work with our partners to develop long
term programs that result in rebuilding homes, educating children, comforting
the injured, and develop ongoing leadership capacity. 

Responsible and focused efforts

With many areas still unsafe, it is important that Hands On and its partners
are able to manage the volunteer pool as unmanaged and untrained volunteers can
often be utilized ineffectively, and so we hope that you will join us.

We all want to assist, and we all should assist, but we should all do so in a
manner that results in the greatest amount of impact, in the most responsible
manner, so that in the end our community is able to rebound from this horrible
time.
